Call Me Old Fashioned

There’s something about the ritual of making an Old Fashioned that feels like a nod to another era. The deliberate pace, the weight of the glass, the clink of the ice—it’s not a drink you rush. It’s a drink you sit with, a drink that commands presence. And maybe that’s why I keep coming back to it.

I’ve always been drawn to the classics, whether it’s music, stories, or—clearly—cocktails. They’ve stood the test of time for a reason. An Old Fashioned isn’t just whiskey and bitters; it’s an unspoken agreement between past and present. You stir, you sip, and if you’re lucky, you get a moment of stillness in a world that’s anything but.

At NEROSBAR, every pour tells a story. Maybe it’s nostalgia, or maybe it’s just the smooth bite of bourbon meeting the faint sweetness of a sugar cube. Either way, it feels right.

The world moves fast these days. Too fast, if you ask me. But here, under the low light and the hum of a carefully chosen playlist, time slows down. The amber swirl in the glass reminds me to stop, to breathe, to remember why I started this place in the first place.

So call me old fashioned—both in my drink and in my ways—but I’ll take the slow pour and the steady hand over the quick fix every time.

As the hours go by throughout the day, we all come to realize we are all old fashion in our own way. A signature drink for a signature bar, in remembrance of a signature fellow.

Cheers to Nero & the bar that commissions his name!
